Farm Insurance
The South Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Companies were organized to be of
service to farmers and farm - related businesses and individuals. Therefore, we
offer a wide range of farm - related insurance policies to meet the unique
needs of today's farmers.
Farm Property Policy: Our farm property policy is designed to cover the
specialized property exposures that farmers have. This policy offers coverage
for Farm dwellings, such as the farmer's house or farm tenant houses, as well
as coverage for farm buildings and other structures such as barns and silos. We
also have coverage available for small farm equipment and machinery, livestock,
and some commodities such as hay, grain, and tobacco. Larger farm equipment
such as tractors, cotton pickers, and harvesters are insured on a Farm
Equipment policy.
Farm Equipment: This policy is designed to protect the farmer against
covered losses because of damage to tractors, combines, irrigation systems,
cotton pickers, and other large farm equipment.
Motor Boat Floater Policy: Motorboats can be covered under this policy in
instances where the insured does not have a homeowner's policy on which to
endorse boat coverage. The policy provides physical damage coverage to the
boat, motor, and trailer.
Farm General Liability: Due to the nature of the farming business,
farmers face liability exposures not encountered by the general public. The use
of heavy equipment and machinery as well as keeping livestock can make the
farmer especially vulnerable to liability exposures. For this reason South
Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Companies offers a Farm General Liability
policy. This policy can provide the farmer with liability coverage for:
accidents arising out of farm operations; livestock getting onto a highway;
injury or death of employees; injuries to members of the public or visitors to
the insured's premises; and for accidents arising out of the insured's farm
activities.
Farm and Ranch Umbrella: Our Farm and Ranch Umbrella provides excess
liability coverage for farmers beyond the liability limits provided in the Farm
General Liability policy. It is an excess limits policy; therefore carrying the
underlying Farm General Liability policy is a requirement. This umbrella policy
can also provide additional liability protection in the event of a serious
at-fault accident involving farm trucks or other licensed vehicles.
Deductibles
The deductible is the amount of the loss for which you are responsible. It does
not apply to Farm Liability or Medical Payments to Others coverage.
There are also other available coverage options to further customize your
